Hybridizing outcome

Beitrag von Rosanne »

Hi everyone,
I am Rosanne  from Belgium and i put my first steps into the Brugmansia world. I have seven brugs ho are rooting right now and hopefully next year i will be able to do one or two crossings.
I like double flowers,  and i wonder if i cross 'double X double' is the outcome 100 percent double??
How about the colors, are some colors dominant??
Does anyone know more about brugs genetics ??

The double x double cross will not result in 100 percentage doubles but 30 - 50% doubles are possible. However it increases the percentage of getting deformed flowers.

White dominates in most crosses, the colors are linked to the presence of species in a cross, like Apricot which comes through versicolor - genes only.
