I have grown this cultivar from the day it was released. Bought it straight from the hybridizer. This, in fact is the same original plant. It is planted in the ground and is about 10 feet tall...
This is the first time I have ever gotten blooms that look like this. The tendrils flare straight out and it looks like the tip of the blooms were dipped in white chocolate...the color isn't blotchy and the blooms have been opened for several days now...i kept waiting for them to "normalize" but it doesn't look like that is going to happen...This sure is a strange mutation for a flush on MEM...
The original plant was cut back to the main hardwood 'Y's. These blooms are blooming on green growth that has sprouted from this cutback. i know this may be some strange effect caused by some environmental factor but it sure would be nice if it was some sort of sport that could be propagated and have the cuttings bloom in the same manner as this

Gary, have you had sudden temperature changes lately in Florida? It often causes this kind of coloration of Brugmansia flowers.

The coloration will probably be normal again, if the temperatures return for the brugmansia tolerable degrees. But it would be exciting, if this was indeed a mutation. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
