Niels, do you grow also Brugmansia hybrids of the warm group together with the cold group or do you keep them separated? For me it was impossible to cultivate the two groups together. The exception is Mobisu. I have not had such a virustolerant hybrid like this one before.

I grow them both together, I have no space to separate them in my little garden.
Do you mean not being able to grow them together because of virus transfer from warm to cold group?

Wildfire, sanguinea, Mobisu and Schloss Charlottenburg do show a mosaic pattern in the leaves, but they are healthy and produce flowers. Although sanguinea really hates the summer heat.
New Magic has no sign of any disease at all, not even now in january.

Amethyst on the other hand is a very sickly plant, but it's the same in the photo's in Kirchner Abel's webshop. I don't think a healthy plant of Amethyst actually exists anywhere.

That the experience I made in several years growing many different cultivars of that group and that is the reason, why I dont cultivate them any longer.
Compared with Mobisu, I have seen none of the newer cultivars so far, that would top this robust and vigorous hybrid. It even tops some cultivars out of the warm group.

I would try to raise trees for that purpose. Mobisu is easy to get into tree form.

Ich habe sie auch nicht mehr. Vor zwei Jahren mußte ich mich aus familiären Gründen von den großen Pflanzen trennen

Das kenne ich... Nach einigen Jahren kann man sie nicht mehr bewältigen... Ich hätte eine Hochstamm Schloss Burg. Nach 15 Jahren war es ein richtiger Baum. Selbst mit zwei Leuten kaum zu bewältigen. Jetzt bleibt sie stehen. Hatte sie schon mal einen Sommer im Keller gelassen. Hat es überlebt.... Ich habe einfach zu viele Pflanzen...
